What is EpicCare Link?

EpicCare Link is a read-only, web-based tool offering secure, remote access so community providers can view their patients’ MultiCare Health System medical record. The tool enables you to make and track referrals, view lab and imaging results, message MultiCare providers and more.

There is no need for installation on your server or computer. Once you set up an account (instructions below), just log in from your web browser.

Who can use EpicCare Link?

Referring physicians and their office staff, staff of a doctor who rounds in MultiCare hospitals and clinics, affiliate billers, post-acute providers, and long-term care facilities.

What type of patient information is available?

EpicCare Link allows physicians outside MultiCare to maintain continuity of care with their patients at MultiCare.

With EpicCare Link, you can:

  • Refer a patient
  • Track referrals electronically to avoid delays in patient care by eliminating the need to fax or mail
  • Communicate with MultiCare physicians
  • Upload care documents to patient charts
  • Monitor patients’ care at MultiCare
  • View patients’ radiology images from MultiCare’s PACS
  • Review patients’ lab results, notes and reports
  • Request and access release of information

Note: EpicCare Link is not an electronic medical record and cannot be used by clinical staff to document patient information.

How to get an EpicCare Link account for your practice

Physician practices are required to complete all necessary requirements to get access for office staff and third-party affiliates.

To begin the process, the practice must:

  1. Contact the MultiCare non-employed staff department: Western and Central Washington at [email protected] or for those in the Inland Northwest, [email protected]. You will receive instructions for completing the rest of the steps.
  2. Complete and sign an EpicCare Link participation and license agreement
  3. Assigned a MultiCare sponsor, where needed
  4. Fill out forms for each user needing access to EpicCare Link
  5. Complete the MultiCare non-employee onboarding process with your sponsor

Once the above steps have been completed:

  • Data is entered into our contract system
  • The sponsor submits request(s) through the Zetta Portal. Please note, existing organizations take one to three days for onboarding and three to five days for account provisioning. New organizations may take additional time for processing.
  • After the account has been established, you will receive an email that includes a quick reference guide to orient you to EpicCare Link.

Note: Users are not allowed to share their username and password with anyone, as specified in the terms and conditions of EpicCare Link. Patient health information confidentiality requires each individual user to have their own username and password.
