Better health through restful sleep

We spend approximately one-third of our lives sleeping — or trying to sleep. The quantity and quality of our sleep affects every aspect of our well-being, including our mood, our immune system and our ability to think and learn.

Yet getting a good night’s sleep isn’t always easy. Persistent sleep problems are not only frustrating and exhausting, but they can also be harmful to your health if left untreated. At MultiCare, we are committed to helping you get the rest you need so you can lead a full, vibrant life.

What we treat

Our team, led by doctors board-certified in sleep medicine, diagnoses and treats a wide range of sleep-related conditions and symptoms in adults and children:

  • Breathing disorders associated with lung disease
  • Breathing disorders associated with neuromuscular disorders
  • Cheyne-Stokes breathing
  • Insomnia
  • Narcolepsy
  • Parasomnias (abnormal behaviors in sleep)

How we help

Whether you’re concerned about snoring or you’re having trouble sleeping through the night, MultiCare’s sleep medicine team will collaborate with you to uncover the causes of your sleep problem and develop a treatment plan.

The first step toward better sleep is attending a one-on-one consultation with one of our sleep specialists, where you’ll discuss your symptoms and their impact on your life. Following that appointment, your sleep specialist may recommend a test known as a sleep study. This study will analyze your sleep patterns and monitor your bodily activity as you rest. Our sleep testing programs are accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

After the study, your specialist will schedule a follow-up appointment with you to review the results, discuss treatment options and help you implement and maintain healthy sleep habits. Throughout your entire experience, from sleep testing to ongoing management of a sleep disorder, we’re here to support you in your quest for sound sleep.

MultiCare’s Sleep Medicine team works closely with sleep specialists at Mary Bridge Children’s to address pediatric sleep concerns. We also evaluate commercial drivers and pilots who require sleep disorder screening for licensure.
