Here are six common causes of health care-related injuries:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Overexertion and repetitive stress.<\/strong> According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), health care workers are seven times more likely than others to develop injuries that affect muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, discs and blood vessels.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Patient-handling activities.<\/strong> Nursing assistants are particularly prone to injury from transferring and repositioning patients and working in awkward positions.<br \/>\nSharp instruments can also be an issue.
