The power of nursing at MultiCare
As I reflect on the stories in the 2025 Nursing Annual Report, what stands out most is the steady leadership and patient-centered focus of nurses across MultiCare. In moments of challenge and change, our nurses stepped forward — identifying issues, sharing ideas to improve care and supporting one another as they shape the future of nursing at MultiCare.
For many of us who answer the calling to be a nurse, our passions are deeply rooted and consistent. We are lifelong learners, always striving for excellence and asking ourselves, “How can we make things better?” — for our patients and their families, for one another and for the way we deliver care. That spirit of curiosity and commitment is woven throughout every story in this report.
Every day, I am struck by the strength of our culture at MultiCare. For an organization of this size, it is powerful. It’s not just something we talk about — it’s something we feel.
I see that same spirit reflected everywhere: in our dedication to high reliability, in our shared commitment to safety and in our focus on continuous improvement. This dedication has helped build strong systems that support nurses in doing their best work for the communities we serve.
The stories in this report are connected by a shared commitment to compassionate, high-quality care. Together, they reflect the depth, expertise and heart of the nursing profession at MultiCare.
The past year marked an important shift for nursing at MultiCare. After years focused on recovery and stabilization, we began building momentum — investing in our people, strengthening our workforce and creating space for nurses to grow, lead and thrive.
Looking ahead, while there is always more work to do, I am confident in the direction we are headed. Guided by our nurses and strengthened by their voices, we will continue to build a nursing culture that supports excellence, innovation and care for one another.
I’m grateful to be on this journey with these incredible nurses, and I’m excited for what we will accomplish together — for our patients and their families, our communities and one another.
