How many interviews do you offer?
Tacoma Family Medicine will interview approximately 124 applicants for its eight available first-year positions.
When does Tacoma Family Medicine offer interviews?
TFM will conduct virtual interviews via Thalamus during the 2025-2026 interview season.
We will offer interviews every Tuesday from October 21st through December 30th.
This year we are offering two on-site visits for the following dates: January 15th, 2026, and February 19th, 2026. Please note, attendance at one of these events will in no way impact your ranking with the program. RSVP for these events is required and can be done via Thalamus.
As the season progresses and available interview appointments become filled, it is not always possible to accommodate requests for a specific interview date. It is therefore to your advantage to complete your ERAS application in a timely manner and submit it as early as possible. Our faculty will strive to review qualified applications at the earliest possible opportunity, and our residency coordinator will contact you as soon as a decision regarding a personal interview has been made.
Are there any social activities planned around the interview day?
An informal group virtual meeting will be hosted on November 6th, November 20th, and December 18th. Tune in and meet our residents in this relaxed environment to get to know one another and share information about the program from our current resident’s perspective. Details on the meeting will be sent to applicants with other interview day information via Thalamus.
What should I expect on interview day?
We offer two interview sessions each Tuesday. “Interview A” runs 8am-10:05 & “Session B” runs 10:30am-12:35pm (Please be mindful of this distinction when selecting an interview slot). The interview day will begin with brief Welcome Session which includes all applicants, residents and faculty. Applicants will then meet with two residents, a faculty member and the Program Director in 1:1 interviews each lasting 20mins. The interview will wrap up with a Closing Session – an opportunity for any lingering group-oriented questions and TFM residents love to share their favorite things about Tacoma!
