Before You Volunteer: 5 Things to Know

1. MultiCare asks that volunteers make a 100-hour commitment. This requires that you volunteer approximately four hours per week for six months.
2. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old to apply. For emergency departments and other critical care areas, the minimum age is 18.
3. The onboarding process for new volunteers can take up to one month. We follow a very detailed process to ensure a safe and healthy environment for you, our patients and our visitors.
4. MultiCare will conduct a criminal background check on all volunteer applicants. MultiCare cannot accommodate court-ordered community service.
