Volunteer at MultiCare Hospice
Thank you for considering sharing your time with MultiCare Home Health & Hospice!
Volunteers form an integral part of the team, making a difference for our patients and their loved ones.
Whether you visit patients, support staff in the office, or craft donations at home, your help is needed:
- Administrative volunteer: Support the hospice team through daily office duties.
- Bereavement volunteers: Assist counselors with administrative tasks and support groups.
- Correspondence volunteer: Write encouraging notes for patients.
- Home Health rounding: Make weekly calls to patients to improve satisfaction and clinical outcomes.
- Patient companionship volunteers: Provide caring, friendly support for patients in their home, and much-needed respite for caregivers.
- Special projects: Donate hand crafted items for patients e.g., cards, quilts, blankets.
- Tuck in callers: Call patients on Thursday mornings to establish supply needs for the weekend.
- Veteran volunteers: Visit veterans receiving hospice care and assist with pinning ceremonies.
- Vigil volunteers: Provide a soothing, compassionate presence for patients who do not want to die alone.
Volunteers are screened, trained and supported by the Volunteer Coordinators and the hospice team.
