Wakulima USA helps people draw strength from shared experiences
What do farming, mental health support and community advocacy have in common? For Dickson Njeri and David Bulindah, co-founders of nonprofit Wakulima USA, the connection is clear – all three are essential programs for an immigrant community that draws strength from shared experiences.
Wakulima USA is a farming and food business cooperative that advances small business development and food sovereignty for low-income immigrants in the Puget Sound region. The organization aims to create opportunities for farmers and food business entrepreneurs while decreasing health disparities resulting from food inequities.
