Job Shadowing

Please read through all the options below for job shadowing opportunities.

Puget Sound region
  • Job Shadow applications are only available to active MultiCare Volunteers.
    • The volunteer must complete 60-hours of volunteer service prior to requesting a Job Shadow.
    • Job Shadows must be pre-arranged by the volunteer.
  • Active volunteers who have identified a staff member willing to mentor their job shadow can email our job shadow coordinator, Harleen Kaur to begin the process.
  • Volunteer Services helps process but does not coordinate or schedule pre-arranged job shadows for active volunteers.
  • Volunteers may not shadow a family member.
  • Job shadows are observation only and limited to 12-hours. No clinical or hands on patient interaction.

Inland Northwest region
  • Job Shadow approval is dependent on complete job shadow documents, department staff availability and management approval.
  • Please email Jennifer Tucker, director of volunteer services, to gain access to the Inland Northwest Job Shadow program application.
  • Participant may not shadow a family member.
  • Participant must be at least 16 years old.
  • Job shadows are observation only. No clinical hours or direct patient care.

Yakima Valley Memorial
  • Volunteer Services processes pre-arranged job shadowing opportunities. Participants already have a staff member who has agreed to mentor their shadow.
  • Volunteer Services helps process but does not coordinate or schedule pre-arranged job shadows.
  • Participant may not shadow a family member.
  • Participant must be at least 16 years old.
  • Job shadows are observation only. No clinical hours or patient interaction.
  • Job Shadows are currently on hold at Yakima Valley Memorial, complete this form to be added to the waitlist
