Is Surgery Right for You?

Find out if surgery is right for you

Bariatric surgery, also known as weight-loss surgery, has a successful track record in helping people lose weight, overcome weight-related health problems and live life to the fullest.

Our approach is about more than just weight-loss procedures — as part of this treatment plan, you’ll also create new, healthy eating patterns with the help of our dietitians and learn to safely increase your activity level. These three factors — surgery, eating habits and exercise — help support lifelong success.

Attend an informational seminar

If you’re considering weight-loss surgery, follow these steps to learn more and schedule an initial consultation. Patients can attend surgery information session without referral.

Step 1. Attend a free seminar. Virtual and in-person options are available depending on your location. During the seminar, one of our board-certified bariatric surgeons will discuss the weight-loss procedures MultiCare offers, insurance requirements, how to prepare for surgery, what recovery is like and how we provide ongoing support after surgery. This step is required before scheduling a consultation.

Step 2. Fill out a screening form. At the end of the seminar, you’ll have the opportunity to complete a screening form to help determine your eligibility and insurance coverage.

Step 3. Schedule a consultation. Following the seminar, one of our bariatric coordinators will call you to schedule a consultation or discuss other options if you’re not eligible for surgery.
