TACOMA, Wash. – Four organizations within MultiCare were recognized today for their efforts in tissue and organ donation in 2018 by LifeCenter Northwest, an organization that facilitates organ, eye and tissue donations across the Northwest and Alaska.
MultiCare Auburn Medical Center and MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital are two out of only 25 hospitals to receive the Collaboration Achievement Award, which recognizes hospital collaboration on conversations about organ donation with families, ensuring the best possible family experience. This award is presented for reaching or exceeding a 90 percent collaboration rate with organ donation cases.
MultiCare Valley Hospital is one of only 12 hospitals to receive the Organ Donation Referral Achievement Award, which recognizes hospitals for their consistency in making timely referral calls, a commitment that is incredibly challenging. This award is for reaching or exceeding a referral rate of 90 percent for organ donation.
MultiCare at Home is one of only 25 hospitals to receive the Tissue Donation Referral Achievement Award, which recognizes hospitals for their consistency in maintaining a high timely referral rate, a testament to their dedication. This award is for reaching or exceeding a referral rate of 95 percent for tissue donation.
“It is an honor to work with such dedicated hospital partners,” says LifeCenter Northwest President and CEO, Kevin O’Connor. “We greatly appreciate the contributions they make every day to help save and heal lives through organ and tissue donation.”
LifeCenter Northwest is the federally designated organ procurement organization serving Alaska, Montana, North Idaho and Washington — the largest geographic donation service area in the United States. The full list of hospital achievement awards and recipients will be included in LifeCenter Northwest’s 2018 Annual Report.
