Community Health Needs Assessment
As a nonprofit health system, MultiCare conducts a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) every three years to identify the most pressing health needs in our hospital service areas, then develops an implementation strategy for how we will work with our communities to address those needs. The reports and implementation strategies for each of the hospitals wholly owned and operated by MultiCare are available below.
MultiCare collaborates with Public Health Seattle & King County, Spokane Regional Health District, Thurston County Public Health and Social Services Department, Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department, and the Yakima County Health District to collect and review community health data. This process includes assessing key health indicators from several data sources and information provided by community members and leaders.
Based on this data, available resources, existing programs, and other needs identified by MultiCare leaders, each county selects the top-priority needs for their service areas as the focus of the next three-year implementation period. Those needs are outlined in each county’s CHNA report.
