Adult community support services

Support for those who need it most

When you have serious mental illness, life can feel overwhelming. Day-to-day activities — such as working and paying bills, socializing with friends and family, living on your own, even finding a doctor to take care of you — may be difficult or impossible. Without ongoing help and support, it’s easy to slip through the cracks and fall deeper into illness.

For over 40 years, MultiCare Behavioral Health has provided in-depth treatment and support services to adults with serious mental illness who are receiving, or would qualify to receive, Medicaid benefits. We work with these clients to coordinate every step of their mental health and medical needs, so that they can:

  • Move forward in their recovery
  • Achieve a better quality of life
  • Access local resources to meet their unique needs

Who We Help

Throughout our long history of delivering mental health services in Pierce County, we have developed expertise in treating the most at-risk members of our community. This includes people with conditions such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder who may have difficulty functioning on their own.

We offer both treatment and outreach resources, such as our mobile health van, to help ensure these individuals has access to the care and community resources they need.

How it Works

When adults are enrolled in our Adult Community Support Services program, we assign them a primary behavioral health clinician. This team member coordinates all of the client’s mental health, medical care and community resource needs.

This may include:

  • Care and treatment for mental health issues
  • Coping and self-care techniques to help manage mental health and medical symptoms
  • Seamlessly integrating mental health care with medical treatment, if needed. Learn more about integrated services at MultiCare
  • Helping access MultiCare’s mental health specialty services, including our adult residential treatment facility, Luckett House, and peer support services
  • Helping apply for community resources including food assistance, medical benefits and financial assistance. Learn more about services available through the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services.
  • Services in both Korean and Vietnamese
