Newborn Care and Breastfeeding at Tacoma General Hospital
Newborn Care- This one-night class offers an in-depth preparation on what to expect from your newborn and how to best care for him or her when you get home from the hospital. Sleeping, feeding, diapering, bathing and safety issues will all be covered with extra time for your questions or concerns to be addressed. 3 hours.

Who Should Enroll: Enroll mother-to-be ONLY, ages 11 and up. Partners are encouraged to attend at no additional cost but do NOT need to be enrolled. Please do not bring children to class. Adoptive parents are also welcome to attend.

Parking Notes: Park in the Baker Center parking garage and enter through the front hospital entrance. Your class will be located in the Family Education Center on the 3rd floor of the hospital. Enter through the main entrance on MLK Way and head to the back of the floor you entered on, towards the NICU. Enter the door near the Breast pump and Lactation Supply office and you will see your classroom on the right.

Fee Notes: Payment required at the time of enrollment.
Supply Notes: Bring a notebook and pen for notes, if desired.
Class/Event Discount Policy: For a multi-class discount please call 800-342-9919 to register.
Class/Event Refund Policy: Please call to cancel if you are unable to attend. Refunds are available up to 48 hours before the first class begins, a $15.00 handling fee will be retained by MultiCare.
Inclement Weather Policy: We will notify those enrolled if class is canceled.
Couples Enrollment Policy: A class registrant may attend alone but can feel free to bring a partner at no additional charge.
