TACOMA, Wash. – Harbor Pediatrics, a Gig Harbor-based medical group that specializes in pediatric care, has formally joined the Mary Bridge Children’s Network as an affiliate provider. The partnership took effect on October 26, 2020, and includes a name change to Harbor Pediatrics – Mary Bridge Children’s.
“This is great news for our patients and their families as it allows for seamless and expanded access to pediatric specialists and programs across the region,” said Dr. Tom Herron, founder of Harbor Pediatrics. “Being a part of the larger Mary Bridge Children’s Network allows us to coordinate hospital and outpatient specialty care more effectively while, at the same time, providing more treatment options than we could have as an independent practice.”
Over the past 21 years, Harbor Pediatrics has worked with Mary Bridge Children’s and MultiCare Health System to provide comprehensive care to its patients. Today’s announcement formalizes that long-standing partnership.
“For more than two decades we’ve worked together to provide children in the South Sound with access to the highest quality of care,” said Jeff Poltawsky, President of Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital & Health Network. “By bringing our physicians, staff and organizations together, we’ve also expanded the number of resources available to our patients and their families.”
As a result of the new partnership, electronic health records for Harbor Pediatrics patients now reside on a shared system that is more easily accessed by Mary Bridge Children’s Network providers and health professionals, providing the safest, seamless pediatric care coordination across outpatient and inpatient care for children.
