SPOKANE, Wash. — MultiCare Deaconess Hospital has achieved accreditation from Surgical Review Corporation (SRC) as a Center of Excellence in robotic and hernia care. MultiCare Valley Hospital was also recognized as a Center of Excellence in hernia care.
As accredited Centers of Excellence, Deaconess and Valley hospitals have met nationally and internationally recognized standards. Both MultiCare hospitals were recognized after rigorous standards set by SRC. Not all hospitals or surgeons seek accreditation, and not all hospitals that undergo the rigorous inspection process are granted accreditation.
Accreditation requirements encompass physicians’ surgical expertise and experience, the standardization of clinical pathways, consultative services, equipment and instruments, and patient education.
“MultiCare is leading the way in embracing robotic surgical and hernia procedures for our patients,” said Wade Hunt, president of Deaconess and Valley. “Being designated as a Center of Excellence is a testament to the dedication of our staff, nurses and surgeons in providing the highest-quality care to our patients.”
