TACOMA, Wash. — For the 17th consecutive year, MultiCare Health System was named a “Most Wired” U.S. health care organization by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME).
MultiCare achieved the highest level of recognition in both ambulatory and acute-care categories, level 10, demonstrating it has deployed technologies and strategies to analyze data and achieve meaningful clinical and efficient outcomes. Only 18 health systems in the country achieved this level of innovation.
“MultiCare continues to look at innovative ways to utilize technology to enhance care and improve patient outcomes,” said Scott Waters, chief information officer at MultiCare. “From AI-driven diagnostics to telemedicine, technology is redefining how we deliver care, making it more personalized, accessible and efficient.”
MultiCare has been at the forefront of implementing technology in patient care. The health system continues to invest in robotic surgery, providing patients with minimally invasive procedures that require less hospitalization. MultiCare uses artificial intelligence or AI systems to help physicians with daily tasks so they can spend more time with their patients.
Among the more than 50,000 facilities represented, MultiCare distinguished itself by ranking above peers in key focus areas, including clinical quality and safety, analytics and data management, cybersecurity, population health, infrastructure, patient engagement, and innovation. The survey evaluates the adoption maturity, outcomes and value of technology integration across health care organizations at all stages of digital maturity — from early phase digitization to advanced transformation.
