The science of quality patient care
MultiCare has been involved with clinical research studies for four decades. Our investigators initially focused on cancer care, but over time the research program expanded into a diverse group of diseases and medical conditions. The MultiCare Institute for Research & Innovation, formed in 2010, houses all our research efforts in a single program.
The Research Institute works with MultiCare-employed doctors, as well as community doctors, on studies led by federal agencies, industry groups, and independent researchers and organizations. Our goal is to find new, better treatments, treatment methods and ways we can improve the care we provide.

The Research Institute will be the leading research site in the Pacific Northwest. We work with renowned community researchers in the communities we serve to offer the most recent advancements in medical science available. Through groundbreaking research, these professionals provide patients access to cutting-edge treatments that would not otherwise be available. We want community members to seek out MultiCare’s facilities and providers because of our research expertise and access to studies.
