Medicare insurance support
MultiCare partners with two trusted organizations to support you:
- PSW. Our local, Washington-state based partner offers in-person support. Their licensed agents work with all Medicare insurance carriers accepted by MultiCare and can help you find a plan that fits your needs while keeping your current providers and care team. You can connect with them by phone or online. Call 888-343-1087 or visit the PSW website to learn more.
- Chapter. Our national Medicare partner provides free expert guidance over the phone or online. Chapter searches every Medicare option available to help you make informed decisions. Schedule your free consultation online or at 800-341-6048.
Both services are available to MultiCare patients at no cost and with no obligation. You’re also free to contact Medicare plans directly, work with any licensed agent, or contact Medicare via their website or phone: 800-MEDICARE (800-633-4227; TTY: 877-486-2048).
Accountable Care Organizations
One of the provisions in the Affordable Care Act (ACA) was the creation of Accountable Care Organizations (ACO). An ACO is a network of doctors and hospitals who share responsibility for providing care to patients. While the ACA’s focus on ACOs was related to Medicare beneficiaries, ACOs are not limited to caring for patients on Medicare.
ACOs make providers jointly accountable for the health of their patients, giving them strong incentives to cooperate and save money by avoiding unnecessary tests and procedures, and instead focusing on helping participating patients get, and stay, healthy.
MultiCare providers and services participate in several ACOs throughout the state of Washington, including:
- MultiCare Connected Care. The organization was established in 2014. Its clinically integrated network is comprised of doctors and other health care providers, as well as hospitals, clinics and other health care services such as medical imaging, laboratory and pharmacy services. It includes health care professionals in the community, as well as MultiCare providers.
- Embright. In 2019, MultiCare, UW Medicine, and LifePoint Health formed the clinically integrated network Embright. Embright enables the partners to develop care delivery models that will improve patient care and patient experience at a more affordable cost. Together, the founding organizations represent 14 hospitals, more than 12,000 providers and over 600 outpatient sites of care.
