Karissa Secora, DMSc, MPAS, PA-C, AQH, is a board-certified physician assistant specializing in headache medicine. Karissa treats a variety of conditions related to headache disorders.

The conditions Karissa treats include:

  • Migraine
  • Neck pain
  • Facial pain
  • Trigeminal neuralgia
  • Occipital neuralgia
  • Trigeminal autonomic cephalgias (TACs), such as cluster headaches, SUNCT, hemicrania continua, paroxysmal hemicrania
  • Idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH)
  • Spontaneous intracranial hypotension (SIH)/Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak

The procedures Karissa performs include:

  • Botox injections for chronic migraine
  • Nerve blocks such as occipital, trigeminal and sphenopalatine ganglion (SPG)
  • Trigger point injections for neck pain

In her free time, Karissa loves spending time with her partner and two German shepherd rescues. She also enjoys long distance running, adhering to a plant-based diet, traveling, hiking, kayaking, camping and watching football.

My philosophy is comprehensive based as I try to integrate natural treatments in the care plan. It is important to evaluate the whole picture including diet, sleep, exercise, and posture.

Headaches can be very debilitating and negatively impact quality of life. My goal is to restore the highest level of functioning.
