Eldercare Family Services

Helping older adults cope with functional disabilities

This program provides a variety of services to older adults and their families to help them cope with normal and disease-related functional disabilities. Telephone information and referral services connect families to services at Good Samaritan and the community. Nursing and social work staff provide in-home assessment. They also help families find the care they need, deal with difficult decisions and understand care options.

Other services include support groups, an Alzheimer’s and caregiver library, overnight respite services and classes on caring for aging parents and dementia. The Dementia Family Support Project provides in-home assessment and help to caregivers with a memory-impaired loved one.
