Mental health. It’s an important part of our overall wellness. But it’s something that many people don’t like to talk about. And those who struggle with mental health issues — whether it be from depression or anxiety, the first stages of dementia or more acute, severe mental illness — may feel isolated from their friends, family and peers. They may feel that there’s nothing that can be done to help them.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

Thanks to our 2017 affiliation with Navos, MultiCare Behavioral Health is the largest mental health provider in the state of Washington, offering services throughout Pierce and King counties. We want you to know that mental health challenges are common. They can happen to anyone. They can be treated. And we’re here to help.

How We Help

• Outpatient services: With locations throughout Pierce and King County, we provide compassionate care for adults, children and older adults with conditions ranging from depression and anxiety to substance abuse or severe mental illness.
• Integrated primary care: We lead the field in integrated services with licensed mental health specialists available throughout Pierce County and South King County.
• In the community: Our counselors are available to children in 15 schools in five different school districts throughout Pierce County.
• Support services: From peer support counselors to domestic abuse survivor support, we offer a variety of services to help people achieve their goals. Learn more about our specialty services.
• Inpatient services: We provide inpatient behavioral health services to a number of different populations. Comprehensive inpatient psychiatric treatment for older adults over age 50 is provided at MultiCare Auburn Medical Center’s Geriatric Inpatient Psychiatry Unit. Inpatient psychiatric care for adults 18 and older is offered at Auburn’s Adult Behavioral Health Unit, Navos’ Behavioral Health Hospital, and at Wellfound Behavioral Health Hospital in Tacoma, a joint venture between CHI Franciscan and MultiCare. Inpatient behavioral health care for teens ages 13 through 17 can be found at Adolescent Behavioral Health at Tacoma General Hospital.
