MultiCare announces 10-year, $1 million partnership with Hooptown USA

SPOKANE — MultiCare announced a $1 million, 10-year exclusive sponsorship with Hooptown USA June 29 during Hoopfest as part of MultiCare’s continuing efforts to improve the health of the Inland Northwest community.

This sponsorship builds upon MultiCare’s partnership with The Spokane Hoopfest Association, including as the official Hoopfest medical sponsor for the past few years.

Together, Hoopfest and MultiCare will lead Spokane on its way to a new identity as Hooptown USA, a community committed to health for people of all ages and abilities.

The sponsorship of Hooptown USA will support the development of a state-of-the-art basketball complex and new basketball Hall of Fame in Riverfront Park. The Spokane Hoopfest Association has built more than 30 community basketball courts since the group was established in 1990. The Riverfront Park complex will have two full courts, a half court, lights and bleachers. The association says it plans to add art both there and in community courts, creating a fusion of art and basketball.

In a memo to employees, MultiCare CEO and President Bill Robertson said “This sponsorship will stretch far beyond the court as we work together to promote health and fitness for families in the Inland Northwest. After 30 years, Hoopfest has proven themselves as an ideal teammate in partnering for healing and a healthy future. We look forward to positively impacting health together in the Inland Northwest.”
