Rock the Foundation event raises more than $717,000

Crowd looks on during Rock the Foundation Gala

TACOMA, Wash — Four hundred and thirty South Sound community members turned out to support MultiCare Health Foundation’s 15th annual Rock the Foundation event at the Marriott Tacoma Downtown, raising more than $717,000 to support MultiCare’s oncology programs and services.

MultiCare treated more than 27,000 patients in the South Sound in 2023. Attendees heard from Rachel Turner, a stage 4 cervical cancer survivor, who talked about the care she received at MultiCare.

“Dr. Wafic Massry, never once did he say, ‘oh, you know, this is going to be a tough battle.’ Never once did he say, ‘you only have a five percent chance,’” Turner said. “He took everything in a positive light along with his team. Knowing that they were having meetings and working together as a team to approach my treatment plan was so reassuring.”

Platinum sponsors for Rock the Foundation included Precision Electric Group, Tacoma Emergency Care Physicians and AstraZeneca.
