Diabetes Services
Did you know that diabetes affects more than 38 million people in the United States — and 1 in 5 of those affected don’t even know they have it?
Managing your diabetes effectively is critical in maintaining your overall health and wellness, whether you have type 1, type 2 or gestational diabetes.
Endocrinologists are skilled in treating all forms of diabetes. MultiCare’s endocrinology specialists can provide the treatment and support you need to manage this chronic condition.
What we treat
- Prediabetes: A potentially reversible condition that occurs when blood sugar levels are high, but not high enough to be considered diabetes.
- Type 1 diabetes: Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease that occurs when the body doesn’t produce insulin, which causes high levels of blood sugar. The condition usually develops during childhood but can occur at any age.
- Type 2 diabetes: This type of diabetes is the most common and develops when your body becomes resistant to insulin or isn’t able to produce enough insulin, causing blood sugar levels to rise.
- Gestational diabetes: Diabetes that occurs during pregnancy.
