Frequently Asked Questions

What should I expect during my appointment?

You will see a trained and skilled wound care provider during your visit, in collaboration with nurses specialized in wound management.  We take a team approach to care for you.  Most wounds are due to chronic conditions which require long-term management.  We work to educate you and your loved ones about how to manage these conditions long term.  Our most important partner is you – we work as a team!

What types of wounds are treated?

We treat all types of wounds, whether they are recent or present for years in some cases.  We work in collaboration with primary care providers and specialists as needed to optimize your health while treating your wound.

What are treatment options?

This depends on the reason for the wound.  Sometimes a simple dressing is enough.  Sometimes additional treatment is needed to control swelling or reduce bacteria growth.  We also used advanced products and procedures when medically necessary.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

  • An updated list of medications including name and dose, how you use it, and how often you take it is important.
  • If you have additional records from prior treatment, this can be very helpful in your care.
  • Bring your questions.  We are here to education and guide you to optimize your health.
