John Muenchrath, MD is often asked, “Why urology?” Urology deals with areas of the body that make patients uncomfortable — even more than the ‘usual’ stuff — and he likes to put people at ease and take them through the process of evaluation and treatment with compassion and excellent care. His goal is to make sure patients understand what will need to be done and why.
Dr. Muenchrath has been a general urologist for over 25 years. He treats diseases and tumors of the kidneys, ureters, bladder and male genitalia. There are very few things that are more rewarding for Dr. Muenchrath that caring for a person and making them better.

Sep, 25 2024I appreciate having Dr. Muenchrath as my Urologist. The practice has become very busy and it is more difficult to schedule appointments. There also seems to be less time for doctor/patient discussions.

Sep, 9 2024There was not much discussion for post catheter removal and treatment options. I realize 2 weeks are needed to address the infection. I did not necessarily hear lif the infection inflamed or enlarged my prostate or vice versa. I look forward to later blood work to compare to that taken yesterday. I recognize this was acute situation that needed resolving

He is direct with his explanations, compassionate enough to involve his patient in treatment decisions and instills confidence in his ability to resolve the issue at hand in a humble manner. I like this physician very much and I feel much less anxiety now regarding my upcoming surgery after this pre-op appointment with him.

He got a gastroenterology consult for {patient name removed} the very next day, and promised to address the urology concern as soon as the more pressing throat problem was looked at. He is patient and gives easily understood explanations.

I was impressed that while I was there to assist my father-in-law, the doctor was speaking to my father-in-law instead of to me. Many doctors we have seen try and speak to me instead of the pt. I know that my father-in-law appreciated that.
