Dr. Shung listened well and explained everything to me thoroughly. He addressed all my concerns and I left feeling great about the decision I made as he and I were in agreement with the treatment plan. Dr. Shung performed the carpal tunnel release on my left hand in 2024 and he did a wonderful job so I feel comfortable and confident he will do an excellent job on my right hand carpal tunnel release and trigger fingers release.

I trust Dr Shung to always put my health and well-being and recovery first. He has performed four surgeries on my right wrist so far and he has worked a complete miracle on how he repaired the severed tendon. He is very professional, innovative, extremely smart, very personable, friendly, is it extensive knowledge of the anatomy of the hand, wrist and arm is amazing,He has always made me feel at ease and comfortable and truly listens to all your concerns before making his recommendations and does not push for anything that is unnecessary. He's always made sure to explain the cause, diagnosis in prognosis in a way that I can understand so that I can make the proper decision for my health. He really should be listed as the #1 hand surgeon in Washington state.

In the midst of the foul up Xray need, Dr Shung the office staff and the entire surgery went very well
  • Jun, 9 2025
Dr.Shung first said my images didn't show anything needed to be done, then after describing my pain issues sat in front of the images for long time (like 3-4 minutes) before mumbling to himself, 'Hard to know, hard to know, could be",yawning, casting can't work or indecipherable noises. Without turning back to me, he would sit for another few minutes doing the same thing, sometimes switching between images. When he finally assessed me, he did explain the potential procedures themselves well, but mentioned, that could 'kill the bone' and moved on. I did ask what if I just left it alone, to which he just said arthritis would set in. I still wasn't sure he was suggesting surgery until he took my wrist and explained the cuts etc.He did not cover risks or benefits,of the surgery itself or of this specific surgery like his clinical notes said he did.
