About the Birth Center

When Capital Medical Center first introduced the concept of having an all-in-one birthing suite unit, the vision was a composite of what mothers said they wanted. That vision became a reality in October 1990. The private birthing suites have been so popular and well received that we again listened to our moms by expanding our services — more birthing suites and a larger nursery.

We’d love to show you what our mothers and families appreciate:

• Labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum care. At Capital Medical Center, our mothers deliver in a private birthing suite where they labor, deliver, recover and receive postpartum care, all in the same room.
• Breastfeeding support. We offer breastfeeding support before, during and after patients stay for as long as they need it.
• Private rooms. Larger, private rooms to accommodate a spouse or support person overnight.
• Room service meals.
• Expert care. The friendliness, attentiveness and skill of our nurses, technicians, and physicians.
• A warm, caring environment. Providing a warm, cozy atmosphere.
