MultiCare Visitor Policy

At MultiCare, we believe there is nothing more important than the safety of our patients, staff, visitors and communities.

Hospital visiting hours vary. Please refer to your hospital’s web page or contact the patient’s unit or care team for the most accurate information.

Self-screening

All visitors will be asked to self-screen for COVID-19, influenza, or respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) symptoms when they enter MultiCare hospitals.

Visitors may not enter our hospitals if they:

  • Have any of the following symptoms:
    • Cough
    • Sore throat
    • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
    • New loss of sense of taste or smell
    • Fever or chills
    • Unexplained muscle ache
    • Headache
    • Runny nose or congestion
    • Nausea or vomiting
    • Diarrhea
  • Have been in close contact with or exposed to a person who has COVID-19 or who is waiting for the results of a COVID-19 test. EXCEPTION: Relatives who are visiting COVID-19 patients or patients waiting for the results of a COVID-19 test.

Visits to COVID-19 patients or patients being tested for COVID-19

  • Visitors are restricted to family members only.
  • Patients located in high-risk areas are restricted to no more than two visitors per day.
  • There is no restriction to number of visitors for patients not located in high-risk areas.
  • All visitors will be required to self-screen for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 upon arrival and cannot visit if they screen positive.
  • Visitors are expected to always wear a mask while in the facility. Visitors 2 years and older will be provided a KN95 mask.
  • Visitors will be informed that the patient has a contagious illness and that choosing to visit puts the visitor at risk for infection.
  • Visitors are not allowed to go to other areas of the hospital, including the gift shop and cafeteria.
