Benjamin Welling, MD enjoys all orthopedic trauma, but especially upper extremity trauma from clavicle to fingertip. He's been trained in all upper extremity arthroplasty; shoulder, elbow, wrist, distal radioulnar joint, and metacarpalphalangeal joints.

MultiCare was the perfect fit for Dr. Welling and his family, allowing him the joy of taking care of a wide range of patients and problems while also being a wonderful place for his family. He is grateful to be here and looks forward to a long career of service in Spokane.

I am profoundly grateful for Dr Welling taking me on as a patient and repairing a wrist fracture that was in need of an experienced surgeon with exceptional skill and talent.     Dr Welling made the time to explain what was going on with the wrist fracture and the choices that were available. The way he articulated the information conveyed years of experience, interest in helping people to heal in the best way possible and his warmth immediately put me at ease. It is obvious that he is passionate about helping people and has invested years of study and hard work to bring his skill level to a very high level to achieve this.     Should have an option for 10/10. This MD is amazing and his bedside manner is second to none. He's very kind. He takes a collaborative approach with you to your care. I can't express in words how critical this is for any patient, but especially someone as medically complex as I am.

The provider's discussion about any proposed treatment was Very Good. He told me if I needed anything or had any problems, to please message him or call the office.     Dr. Welling was amazing! He identified and diagnosed my problem pretty much immediately. Then he skillfully administered the steroid injection. I could tell right away it was successful. And it was minimally uncomfortable. I was very relieved to have such a speedy remedy to an issue that had been causing me such grief for so many months. I'm extremely grateful.

    There was an issue with the hand X-ray machine - Dr. Welling had to jiggle the cord to get the scan to work but, it wouldn't hold power. He apologized and I felt bad for him that he was unable to use this highly specialized piece of equipment - frustrating no doubt.Dr. Welling was very patient and did an excellent job!

    Dr. Welling is open outgoing , extremely easy to speak with. Listens to your concerns, and does not rush you. He has helped me a great deal with my hand surgeries , improving my quality of life. I have a lot of confidence in Dr. Welling. He treats the medical issue, along with the patient. He is genuine in his interactions with you, and cares about your well being.
