Daniel G. Kang, MD, FAOA, FAAOS, is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon who specializes in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of complex spine conditions. He provides care for patients with cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine disorders, using both traditional and minimally invasive surgical techniques tailored to each patient’s needs. Dr. Kang treats a wide range of spine conditions, including degenerative disease, trauma, deformity, tumors and complications from prior spine surgery. His clinical expertise includes advanced cervical and lumbar procedures, complex reconstructive and revision spine surgery, and robotic-assisted spinal fusion.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Kang brings extensive leadership, military and academic experience to his practice. A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, he served on active duty in the U.S. Army Medical Corps, achieving the rank of Colonel and continues to serve in the U.S. Army Reserve. His service includes multiple overseas deployments and providing surgical care to severely injured service members evacuated from combat zones. Dr. Kang has held numerous national leadership and academic roles, including program director for the Madigan Orthopaedic Surgery Residency, deputy editor of The Spine Journal and co-champion for the VA/DoD Low Back Pain Clinical Practice Guideline. He has authored more than 75 peer reviewed articles, contributed extensively to medical education and research and is recognized nationally for his commitment to advancing spine care and training future clinicians.

  • Lower back conditions, including herniated discs, sciatica, spinal stenosis and spondylolisthesis

  • Spinal deformities, such as scoliosis, kyphosis, flatback, sagittal imbalance and spondylolisthesis
