Provider Bio

Provider Bio

Matthew Sather, MD, is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease specializing in cardiac electrophysiology. Dr. Sather manages all varieties of heart arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation (AFib), atrial flutter, supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) and ventricular tachycardia (VT). In treating these arrhythmias, he offers a range of therapies including anti-arrhythmic medications and procedural interventions such as ablation, all with the goal of improving the patient's quality of life. In additional, Dr. Sather implants a wide array of implantable cardiac devices, including loop recorders for long term heart rhythm monitoring, subcutaneous and transvenous defibrillators (ICDs) to help prevent sudden cardiac arrest in high risk patients, and leadless and traditional pacemakers, including those that offer cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) and conduction system pacing (CSP), in treatment of symptoms related to slow heart rates. Dr. Sather also implants left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) devices in patients at high risk for arrhythmia-related stroke and a concomitantly elevated risk of bleeding, all with the goal of mitigating stroke risk without the need for anti-coagulation medical therapy.
