Nefthi Sandeep, MD
Nefthi Sandeep, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician, specializing in pediatric cardiology. Dr. Sandeep is the Medical Director of Mary Bridge Cardiology and treats a wide range of heart conditions in children, including adult congenital heart disease and fetal echocardiography. He earned his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology and then went on to attend the New York University School of Medicine, where he spent an extra year as a Howard Hughes Medical Research Fellow studying electrophysiological mechanisms of arrhythmias. He graduated in 2008 with honors and completed his pediatrics residency at Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital of New York -Presbyterian, Columbia University Medical Center. He completed his fellowship in general pediatric cardiology at Children's National Health System in Washington DC, where he received a T32 grant to study angiogenesis in single ventricle patients with aortopulmonary collaterals at the National Institutes of Health. Afterwards he worked as a translational research fellow investigating right ventricular mitochondrial energetics at the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford University Medical Center in Palo Alto, California, where he also honed his skills in non-invasive imaging (transesophageal and fetal echocardiography and fetal arrhythmia management).
