Nisha Surenderanath, MD
Dr. Nisha Surenderanath, MD, is a board-certified pediatric cardiologist specializing in congenital and acquired heart diseases, cardiomyopathy, fetal cardiology, fetal echocardiography, arrhythmia, genetic and inherited cardiac disorders, chest wall deformities, sports cardiology, syncope, chest pain, and orthostatic intolerance. She is known for her personalized approach, helping families navigate heart conditions from conception through adulthood. Dr. Nisha collaborates with maternal fetal medicine teams to assist pregnant mothers with fetal cardiac defects and has a special interest in sports medicine, focusing on athletic endurance and preventing sudden cardiac death. She completed her pediatric residency at UTHSC, San Antonio, and her pediatric cardiology fellowship at the University of Florida, Gainesville. Dr. Nisha has raised community awareness about preventing sudden cardiac death in athletes through her work with Gwyneth's Gift Foundation. She is dedicated to social responsibility and community projects.
In her free time, Dr. Nisha enjoys traveling, hiking, and learning about different cultures. She is a trained Bharatanatyam and Kathak dancer and enjoys spending time with her two grown children, both in the aviation industry.
