Robert (Dan) Lawson, MD
Robert (Dan) Lawson, MD, FASGE, is a board-certified and highly rated gastroenterologist with more than 20 years of clinical experience. Before entering clinical practice, Dr. Lawson served for 20 years in the United States Navy. Dr. Lawson provides comprehensive medical care for conditions affecting the digestive system, including disorders of the esophagus, stomach, small intestines, colon, liver, pancreas and gallbladder. Additionally, Dr. Lawson is fellowship-trained in interventional endoscopy and has extensive experience in specialized procedures such as endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) which are used to diagnose and treat diseases of the pancreas, liver and biliary tract and for staging and treating gastrointestinal malignancies.
Dr. Lawson performs more than 3,000 procedures each year and is known for strong safety and quality outcomes. He is known for a calm, educational bedside manner and a focus on creating a positive care experience. Additionally, Dr. Lawson is a member of multiple multidisciplinary teams such as the MultiCare Cancer Institute, Radiology and Interventional Radiology, Acute Care Surgery, General Surgery, and Bariatric Surgery, helping ensure patients receive timely and coordinated referrals for specialized care.
