Robert Pfeffer, MD, is a board-certified radiation oncologist providing adult oncology care. Dr. Pfeffer has a special interest in prostate cancer and radiosurgery. He has always tried to bring the next big thing into his practice within the limits of community medicine. For example, Dr. Pfeffer was an early proponent of custom immobilization before that became standard; a proponent of Intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), Volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) and other radiation techniques that were not yet common in the community despite having been worked out and published by the academic community.

In his spare time, he enjoys gardening, skiing, practicing his chef skills, learning Spanish, and learning to use GPT-4, trading covered calls and puts.

The procedures that Dr. Pfeffer performs include:

  • External beam radiation including various types of radiosurgeries such as Stereotactic ablative body radiotherapy (SABR), Stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) and Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS)
  • Intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT)
  • 3D
  • Electron therapy
