Practice Philosophy:

My approach to patient care, from feedback I have received, is much more information-driven than most.  In a word, I would say I'm an educator.  I find that when patients truly understand their conditions, they are much more likely to follow our advice and keep their follow-up appointments. I'm happiest when I can explain a complex medical problem to someone who has never really understood what they have going on in their retina.  When I see the 'lightbulb' go off over their head, I know I've made a difference. Another word would be Monitor as I'm also one to continue seeing certain patients who don't have acute issues but whose condition may 'sneak up' on them later on (Macular Degeneration and Diabetes are famous for this behavior). I believe that a quick expert looks at patients with these conditions, when they are not having new problems, often catches pathology that may soon be an acute vision-threatening event.   One of my favorite lines is, "If I peek, it can't sneak." I'm very proud that my 'peeks' have saved many, many people from going blind.

I feel Dr O'Connor is very concerned about my situation & doing everything he can to get my eye sight corrected in my left eye, plus keeping watch on my right eye also. I feel very fortunate he was able to see me when I had this situation & Dr Glazier was not able to see me that week.

The doctor explained my situation clearly & I was very fortunate to have a specialist in the clinic that could perform the procedure to treat my condition. I definitely felt very fortunate for being able to get in to see a doctor that day & get the treatment same day.

Dr. O'Connor is very professional and talks me through the procedure so there are no surprises. He is most gentle in caring out the procedure which helps me stay calm. He is very thoughtful about hygienic atmosphere and safety during the procedure, but also after. The solution he recommends for after-procedure eyecare is a game changer. It soothes and moistens the eye effectively, compared to my home eye solution. It helps my eye recover better.
