Cancer Diagnosis & Evaluation
Cancers we treat
Our team of cancer specialists includes board-certified doctors who have completed additional training in areas such as medical oncology and cancer surgery. They work in concert with other professionals, such as social workers and nurse navigators, to make your journey through cancer care a little easier.
Together, we treat a wide range of cancer types, such as:
Diagnosis and evaluation
We know an accurate diagnosis is crucial to creating the most effective care plan for you. In addition to conducting a physical exam and taking a detailed family medical history, we use a range of tests to diagnose and evaluate cancer.
Tests may include:
- Lab tests that measure blood, urine or other bodily substances
- Imaging tests, such as X-rays and MRIs
- Diagnostic procedures, such as biopsies
- Genetic tests, which can shed light on your risk for developing certain cancers
These tests help determine the type and stage (or severity) of the cancer. Both a tumor’s size and the extent to which it has spread to other areas of the body inform the staging process.
Once we’ve completed all relevant tests, your doctor or other health care provider will discuss the results with you, review treatment options, recommend a plan and support you in decision making.
