At MultiCare, we are dedicated to helping people live to their full potential. In addition to our hospital-based services and outpatient care, we offer a broad range of specialized support services.

These services are designed to help some of our community’s most vulnerable people live better, healthier, safer lives. Services range from parenting classes to residential treatment to criminal-justice related programs and more. Some programs may be offered in collaboration with community agencies and organizations.

How to access care

Whether you’re seeking outpatient counseling, addiction services, or another type of support, we’ll help you take the next step toward better health.

Services for adults

Our services for adults are designed to improve quality of life, support independence and facilitate access to local resources that can meet individual needs.

This program provides in-depth treatment and support for adults with mental health conditions who have difficulty functioning independently. We work with these individuals to coordinate their medical and mental health care and support access to community resources such as food assistance.

To qualify for this program, clients must receive Apple Health Medicaid benefits. Our Adult Community Support Services program is available at locations throughout Pierce and South King counties.

Residential treatment provides comprehensive 24/7 support in a non-hospital environment for people with severe mental or behavioral health conditions. These services are designed to help individuals transition into more independent community living situations. Residential treatment services are available at Navos, Seeley Lake Lodge, Luckett House and other locations.

We also have multiple programs available through Navos and Greater Lakes Mental Healthcare that support people who are experiencing homelessness or at risk for homelessness:

  • Program of Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) program. This program is designed for individuals who are experiencing homelessness or have recently been discharged from the hospital.
  • Intensive Community Support and Recovery Program (ICSRP). This program provides intensive services for people recently released from long-term psychiatric hospitalization. Residents of our ICSRP program live in homes in West Seattle, Burien and Kent.
  • Housing and Recovery through Peer Services (HARPS). This program is designed for adults recently released from a psychiatric inpatient facility. HARPS helps participants find and maintain affordable housing, access community resources and transition to independence.
  • Independence Bridge. This program provides apartment housing for individuals ages 18-25 who are exiting foster care and could benefit from a strong foundation to start their independent adult lives. Support services include mental health care, primary medical care, life skills mentoring and more.
  • Luckett House and Seeley Lake Lodge. These facilities are voluntary Adult Residential Treatment Facilities that provide 24/7 supervision and care in an unlocked setting for clients who require extended treatment. The programs specialize in providing care for those 18 and over experiencing depression, bipolar disorder, or psychosis. Clients must have a managed care Medicaid to participate in the program and be referred from an inpatient unit or by their established outpatient behavioral health provider.
    • Luckett House is a 45-bed facility in Puyallup, WA.
    • Seeley Lake Lodge is a 20-bed facility in Lakewood, WA.

Services for youth and families

We offer personalized guidance for youth and families and equip them with tools to develop healthy, positive relationships.

This group provides confidential information and discussion in a friendly, supportive environment for teens and young adults in the LGBTQ+ community. Free of charge and offered in Pierce County, the support group is available for youth ages 14 to 21.

Our family support services include parenting classes as well as evidence-based, in-home programs designed to help caregivers nurture their child’s social and emotional development. Family support services are free of charge.

Available through Navos, the Behavior Support Team (BeST) program supports families raising children with developmental disabilities. The BeST team helps families learn to cope with everyday stressors and develop strategies to address more complicated behavioral and emotional challenges. BeST services are available free of charge.

Court and criminal justice services

Greater Lakes Mental Healthcare provides several programs to support people who have been incarcerated or are involved in criminal justice proceedings.

Mental health professionals work in tandem with police officers to respond to calls where someone with a perceived mental illness needs intervention. Together, they help the person avoid arrest and direct them to appropriate services in the community.

Greater Lakes Mental Healthcare clinicians support and advocate for inmates with mental health concerns at the Pierce County Jail, helping them connect with community resources and assistance upon release.

These programs, offered in collaboration with Pierce County Superior Court, help people with mental health or substance use disorders who have committed a nonviolent felony participate in a rigorous program to avoid prosecution.

This program supports people who have a high number of repeat jail bookings, often due to complex mental health challenges. Our team works with them to find housing and build community supports, increasing their chances of avoiding future arrests.
