Accepted Insurance Plans

Learn which insurance plans are accepted at MultiCare

MultiCare participates in a wide variety of health insurance plans. Most of those plans are listed below. Because plan coverage is frequently updated, it is always a good idea to check with your insurance company for current information about your plan and the coverage it provides for your choice of hospital, physician, service or procedure.

If you don’t see your plan or network

If you don’t see your plan or network listed, please contact your insurance provider to find out what, if any, coverage is available to you when you receive services from MultiCare. The member services phone number is typically listed on your ID card.

For more information about these plans, please contact the plan’s customer service department or SHIBA (Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors) help line at 800-562-6900 — a free service of the Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioner.

Accountable Care Organizations

One of the provisions in the Affordable Care Act was the creation of Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs). An ACO is a network of doctors and hospitals that shares responsibility for providing care to patients. While the Affordable Care Act’s focus on ACOs was related to Medicare beneficiaries, ACOs are not limited to caring for patients on Medicare.

ACOs make providers jointly accountable for the health of their patients, giving them strong incentives to cooperate and save money by avoiding unnecessary tests and procedures, and instead focusing on helping participating patients get, and stay, healthy.

MultiCare providers and services participate in several ACOs throughout the state of Washington, including:

MultiCare Connected Care

MultiCare Connected Care was established in 2014. Its Clinically Integrated Network (CIN) is comprised of doctors and other health care providers, as well as hospitals, clinics and other health care services such as imaging, labs and pharmacies. It includes health care professionals in the community, as well as MultiCare providers.

Embright

In 2019, UW Medicine, MultiCare and LifePoint Health formed the clinically integrated network Embright. Embright enables the partners to develop care delivery models that will improve patient care and patient experience at a more affordable cost. Together, the founding organizations represent 14 hospitals, more than 12,000 providers and over 600 outpatient sites of care.
