-
Why do I need MyChart? Is it different from my current patient portal?
-
On June 1, MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital will start using Epic, MultiCare’s system for electronic health records that includes a patient portal called MyChart.
Moving to Epic will combine Yakima’s multiple electronic medical record and billing portals — My Memorial, eClinicalWeb, Equicare, InstaMed and Phreesia — into a single system.
MyChart offers many of the same features you’ve come to expect from a patient portal, such as requesting prescription refills, viewing test results, reviewing your health history and sending messages to your care team.
In addition, MyChart provides features beyond what previous portals offered, including the ability to:
- Schedule and manage appointments
- View and pay your bill
- Better manage a family member’s health
- Access virtual care, including video visits and e-visits
-
Will my past health information be available in MyChart?
-
Some data will transfer from prior electronic health platforms into Epic, so you will see some information in MyChart, including:
- Demographic information, such as name, address, date of birth: Most recent updates
- Prescriptions: Past 12 months
- Lab and imaging results: Past three years
- Visit history and clinical data, such as notes: Past 10 years
- Vitals, such as height and weight for children: Past three years
- Advance care directives, such as power of attorney, living wills: Past three years
-
Can I still send a message to my provider through my patient portal?
-
No. The patient portals listed at the top of this page will not be available after June 1. Please set up a MyChart account, where you can communicate with any providers you have visited in the last three years.
-
Can I schedule an appointment through MyChart?
-
Many providers can schedule appointments through MyChart for established patients. To be an established patient, you must have visited the provider within the last three years. Not all providers will offer scheduling through MyChart immediately, but we expect this to be increasingly available over time.
-
How do I sign up?
-
There are several ways to sign up for MyChart:
- Clinic staff can sign you up during your next visit.
- Look for a MyChart activation code on your After Visit Summary or billing statement, and visit this sign up page.
- You may receive a text message or email with an activation code around the time of your next visit.
No activation code?
- You can sign up for an account without an activation code by answering questions that will verify your identity.
If none of these options work, call MyChart customer support at 844-388-2356.
